FAQs

The first step is to actually show up to an event. RallyX is one of the most laid-back groups in the SCCA and the committee members and competitors are always willing and ready to answer any questions you may have or give you advice about just about anything when it comes to rallying. We have competitors ranging from junkyard armatures to stage rally drivers so no matter what your goal is with RallyX there will be someone around who can point you in the right direction. Check out our Facebook group to start talking to other RallyX racers and get all of your questions answered before your first event.

Head on over to the Schedule page to find out when the next event is going to be and get more information about how to register.

Head on over to the SCCA RallyCross Cars and Rules to figure out what class your car will fall into before registration. If you’re not sure how to class your car then feel free to email Juan Johnson at juanjoh77@gmail.com and he will more than happily help you figure out what class to put your car in.

If your car meets the requirements of the these rules then you can rally. If you have any concerns about if your car is too low or if there is anything about your car that might make competing at an event difficult, email juanjoh77@gmail.com and he will once again be more than happy to help you figure out if rally is right for your car, and point you in the right direction for what to do if it’s not.

All you need to rally is a valid drivers license, and an SCCA legal car (see above), and a desire to go fast on dirt. You may like to bring your own helmet and or any tools you may want to work on your car, but we have loaner helmets and tools on site for people to use if need be. We also usually have water available during the hotter months of summer, but feel free to bring your own. If you forget we’ve got you covered.

It entirely depends on your car, wheel, and tire set up. If you’re new to the sport we encourage you just asks one of us ahead of time or at the event and we should be able to get you squared away.

Absolutely! We love to have spectators on site and it is open to all ages as well as pets as long as they are secured and or being looked after.

As long as they are over the age of 12 and are 54″ or taller they are more than welcome to ride along with you if you want to compete, just make sure to tell registration so we can have you sign a child waiver. (Both parents must sign the waiver even if separated)

If they’re just coming to spectate they can be any age as long as both parents are present to sign the minor waiver.

SCCA Members: $50 (+$5 day of the event)

Non-SCCA Members: $65 ( +$5 Day of the event) also Includes weekend SCCA membership good towards a $10 discount on full membership

Ride alongs: Free!

Spectators: Free!

While this is the assumption and most often recited concern towards RallyX, most cars compete without encountering any issues short of minor paint chips and scratches. We recently relocated to a smoother surface to race on so while in the past there were a few independent instances where a car DNF’d most if not all of that risk is gone now. If you have any questions email Juan at juanjoh77@gmail.com again or just post about it on our Facebook group for more information.
